Hip Replacement

A hip replacement is a very effective means of alleviating pain from an arthritic or damaged joint. An incision is made on the side of the thigh to allow the surgeon access to the hip joint while causing a minimum of soft tissue disruption. The diseased and damaged parts of the hip joint are removed and replaced with artificial components. Different implants may be selected based upon the individual’s anatomy and level of activity. This will be discussed at your consultation. Patients can generally start full weight bearing from the day of surgery.
